An Ghaeilge

Is í an Ghaeilge teanga labhartha na scoile, agus táimid ag iarraidh na páistí a spreagadh chun an Ghaeilge a úsáid. Tá dhá chórás i bhfeidhm sa scoil chun an sprioc seo a bhaint amach. Léigh tríd le do thoil ionas go bhfuil tú ar an eolas ar cad atá ar siúl.

  1. Beidh Córas na dTicéid ag tosú tríd na scoile. Beidh na rang ghrúpaí roinnte idir foirne, gheobhaidh na páistí ticéad nuair atá Gaeilge d’ard chaghdán á labhairt acu. Ag deireadh na míosa bronnfar pribhléid speisialta ar an bhfoireann leis an meid is mó ticéid.
  2. Má tá páiste ag labhairt Béarla d’aon ghnó agus go dúshlánach- faigheann sé/sí carta bán mar atá thíos. Beidh pionóis ar an Aoine-ní ghlacfaidh said páirt in Am Órga agus agus ní bheidh cead acu páirt a ghlacadh sa phribhléid míosúil.
  3. An dara uair go bhfuil páiste ag labhairt Béarla d’aon ghnó gheobhaidh siad cárta buí. Cuirfear glaoch ar thuismitheoirí. Beidh an pionóis céanna ar an Aoine i ndiaidh aon chárta.
  4. Má tá páiste ag labhairt Béarla i ndiaidh é seo- faigheann siad cárta dearg agus beidh cruinniú eagraithe leis an bpríomhoide, múinteoir ranga agus tuismitheoirí ag lorg tacaíocht ón bpáiste agus ó na tuismitheoirí.
  5. Tosóidh gach páiste ar ais ag céim 1 ag tús gach téarma.

Irish is the spoken language in Scoil Uí Riada and it is our intention to inspire the children to use their Gaeilge on a daily basis. To achieve this goal, the school has two initiatives in place. Please read and be informed on what is in place.

  1. A Ticket System is in place throughout the school, class groups will be divided into teams and tickets will be distributed by teachers for examples of good Irish in the classroom and schoolyard. At the end of each month, the team that have collected the most tickets will receive a special privilege.
  2. If a child is speaking English deliberately with no attempt at Irish, they will receive a warning white card, they will not be permitted to take part in Am Órga on Friday and they will not be permitted to take part in the privilege at the end of the month should their team win. Unless, they acquire 5 tickets for good Irish, which allows them to bu yback their cárta bán.
  3. If a child is speaking English a second time, they will receive a yellow card, they will receive an extra Irish lesson in place of Am Órga on Friday and a phone call home.
  4. If a child continues to speak English, they will receive a red card, and a meeting will be arranged between the class teacher, parents and príomhoide to arrange suitable support.
  5. All children will have their cards wiped at the end of each term.
