Cumann na dTuismitheoirí
Nuacht Litir Meán Fómhair 2018
An Cumann na dTuismitheoirí and I would like to welcome everyone to our 2018/2019 school year. We hope you all had a wonderful summer and that you are looking forward to the year ahead. We would like to take this opportunity to wish our former Rang 6 students all the best as they enjoy the next chapter in their education and extend a special welcome to all of our new Naíonáin Bheaga and their parents who we met at our Coffee Morning recently. We will be holding our Parents’ Association AGM on 8th October at 7.30pm in the Halla Beag and everyone is welcome. We are always delighted to have new parents join the Cumann na dTuismitheoirí, or come along and find out how you can help at our various annual events. It’s a great opportunity to meet new parents and have a tea/coffee and chat. Afterwards at 8pm we will be hosting an Internet Safety Talk, with Paula O Connor. More information on this talk can be found on the Internet Safety Talk leaflet. We look forward to meeting you onthe 8th October. Is Mise le Meas, Pam Lynam Cathaoirleach, Cumann na dTuismitheoirí. |
PARKING
We understand that due to current circumstances parking is difficult but please use the car park for drop-off and pick up. If this is not possible park only in designated spaces on the road and ensure your child exits the vehicle onto the footpath. Please do not perform u-turns at the school gates and always encourage your child to use the pedestrian crossing. Let’s make child safety our No. 1 priority!

DIOSCÓ OíCHE SHAMHNA
Halloween DISCO
26ú deireadh fómhair 5.00-7.00pm / 26th October 5.00-7.00pm
Scoil Uí Riada Cumann na dTuismitheoirí are delighted to invite you to our Annual Dioscó Oíche Shamhna. This is a spooktacular event loved by all and will take place as usual on Friday 27th October from
5.00-7.00pm. It is a costume event so please wear Halloween costumes…..you too parents!!!
- This is an event which all the children will look forward to, and as it is a whole school event, children from Junior Infants up to 6th class are all welcome. The hall is dark, and the music is loud, so take this into account, but our experience is that the children absolutely love it. Friends are welcome.
- Back by popular demand will be the V.I.P area for sixth class children. This will be their last year in
the school so we want to make it as special as possible.
- In the interest of safety we would kindly ask that all weapons (Lightsabers and Fairy Wands) be left
at home. Also, school rules apply for all children with mobile phones, they are not allowed.
- There will be a charge of €3 per child at the door (€10 per family) and there will also be a ‘tuck shop’ where drinks and treats may be purchased at a nominal charge (€1-2 per child is more than sufficient). However, please feel free to bring along your own treats if you prefer.
- Complimentary tea and coffee will be available for parents.
We are lucky to have parents who have volunteered to assist during the disco, many thanks to each one of these, as without their assistance we could not run this event. However, we can never have too many helpers, so we would ask that all parents supervise their children on the night to ensure that everyone has a great time.
Please note that the disco runs from 5.00-7.00pm and children will not be permitted to leave the
school without Parental Supervision.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
