Lá na Sean Tuismtheoirí-Grandparents Day 2019

Lá na Sean tuismitheoirí/ Grandparents Day

A Thuismitheoir, a Chara

Ba mhaith linn páirt agus ról na sean tuismitheoirí i saol páistí na scoile a aithint agus a cheiliúradh. Chuige sin tá lá na sean tuismitheoirí á eagrú againn sa scoil ar an Aoine 1ú Feabhra. . Beidh sé mar chuid de sheachtain na scoileanna Caitliceacha 2019. Más sean thuismitheoir thú amuigh ansin le scéal do shaol, dán, amhrán, paidir nó rud ar bith eile gur mhaith leat a roinnt leis na páistí óga sa scoil, cuir glaoch orm ag 01-6287906 le plean a dhéanamh nó labhair leis an múinteoir ranga.

We in Scoil Uí Riada would like to recognise the huge role that grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren in 2019. In order to celebrate the role of grandparents and to learn about their lives we have chosen to celebrate ‘Grandparents Day’ in Scoil Uí Riada on Friday 1st February & to have Grand Parents as the school’s weekly theme (Monday 28th to Friday)

This letter is an open invitation to all grandparents to join with us on Friday 1st February 2019 in our school hall at 10 am. Please fill out and return the RSVP slip connected to this page with your grandchild before Friday 23rd January.

Clár Sealadach (Provisional)

10am: Blas na Scoile (a little flavour from some pupils in SUR)

11 am: Aifreann (Mass)

12:00:  Refreshments and an exploration of our displays (Stands displaying and incorporating old Ireland and life in Scoil Uí Riada)

12:45- 2:00: Grandparents are invited to visit the classrooms of their grandchildren.

As part of our mass celebration we will be displaying a series of photographs. The photographs will be of the grandparents of SUR & their grand children. This is our way of showing appreciation to the grandparents in attendance but also to remember those who are unable to attend and those who are no longer with us. If you would like your picture(s) to be part of this display please email them to helenboyd2008@live.ie before Friday 23rd January. We will try our best to include all photographs.

We would love to hear from Grandparents who would like to share their experiences (as a child, in foreign lands, storytelling etc) with their grandchild’s class in English or Gaeilge. If you play an instrument, sing or dance we would be delighted if you shared this with us during Grand Parents Week.
